LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 13, 2006) -- Saint Francis University freshman Keith Onto (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Borough) has been named the Northeast Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week for the week of Dec. 12, 2006.  Onto’s award marks the second week in a row that a Saint Francis University student-athlete has been recognized for the award.  Mikko Aronopaa won top rookie honors the previous week.

Onto’s performance at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala on Dec. 9^th set a new school record in the heptathlon, completing the event with 4567 points, good enough for fourth place.   Highlighting Onto’s record-setting day was a win in the 1,000m run with a time of 2:37 and second-place finish in the high jump with a  distance of 6’4.75”.
