LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2009) – Saint Francis swimmer Hanna Yttring (Gothenburg, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) was named the Northeast Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week for the week of November 3, as announced by the NEC on Tuesday.

Yttring’s honor marks the second time this season she has won the award, and the third consecutive week a Red Flash swimmer has earned the accolade.  Freshman Alicia Ford (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) garnered the honor last week.

Yttring swept all four events she competed in this past weekend as SFU suffered its first losses of the season to Bucknell and Duquesne.   The junior, who transferred from Hawaii, won the 100-yard butterfly, by lowering her school record time of 56.82.    She also took first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.75.

Against Duquesne, Yttring won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:56.03.  She was a member of the Red Flash’s victorious 200-yard medley relay against the Dukes.  Yttring and teammates Elise Merrill (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring), Chloe Pierre (Valencia, Pa./Mars) and Alicia Ford (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) combined for a time of 1:50.04.  

Saint Francis will travel to Loyola University for the Thomas Murphy Invitational on November 6 and 7.
