ST. BONAVENTURE,
N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2009) – Freshmen Erin Bieger
(Columbus, Ind./Indiana North), Kathleen Lyon (King George, Va./King George)
and Alicia Ford (Whitney Point, N.Y./Whitney Point) each claimed victory as the
Saint Francis swim team defeated St. Bonaventure by a score of 153-134 in New
York on Friday afternoon.
Lyon took first in the 1,000-yard
freestyle with a time of 10:36.13, and also took second in the 500-yard
freestyle. Ford earned her first two
victories of the season, claiming first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.16) and
the 100-yard freestyle (54.08).
Bieger, who won two
events last weekend against Cleveland
State, earned two more wins
today. She placed first in the 100-yard
breaststroke with a time of 1:10.76 and also earned a victory in the 200-yard
event with a time of 2:31.34.
Hanna Yttring (Gothenburg, Sweden/Hawaii)
won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 58.97.
She also took second in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in
1:01.21.
Jessica Dunn (Bristow, Va./Seton School) took third in the
100-yard backstroke and went on to take first in the 200-yard Individual Medley
with a time of 2:13.69. She also swam to
a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.48).
The Red Flash 4The Red Flash 4x100 relay team also took
first place. The quartet of Yttring,
Dunn, Bieger and Ford swam the event in a time of 3:39.03.
Saint Francis will travel to Emmitsburg, Md., to take on
Mount St. Mary’s in their first Northeast Conference meet of the season.
