LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 6, 2009) – Junior back Caitlin Brown (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) earned a spot on the 2009 All-Northeast Conference Field Hockey team, as announced by the NEC on Thursday.  The team was selected by the coaches of the league.

"I am very pleased that my colleagues in the NEC have recognized one of our student-athletes for their performance on the field this season,” said head coach Stacey Bean, who completed her second season at the helm of the Red Flash.  “Caitlin has been one of the cornerstones of our backfield for the past two seasons.  Without a doubt, Caitlin's consistent level of play against NEC opponents has made her one of the top defenders in the conference.  She is one of the reasons that we have continued to improve defensively as a team over the past two years."

A junior captain, Brown played through an injury to compete in all 16 games for the Red Flash.  She started 15 contests in the backfield, and registered 21 shots.  Brown also made two defensive saves on the season and was the leader of a young but talented backfield. 

Saint Francis went 2-16 overall and 2-6 in the NEC.  They finished the season tied for seventh in the conference.
