The S.A.O. is the primary event-coordinator on campus. It has many different committees with all of their members working together to make student life on campus all that it can be! The S.A.O. brings a wide variety of live bands, gut-busting comedians, block-rockin' dances, feature movies, trips & excursions, and TONS of other activities! Just last year, the S.A.O. sponsored over 150 different activities and performances exclusively for the SFU student body! Some of these activities and performances featured nationally recognized comedians and live music performances as well as other popular acts currently on the college circuit. Feature films are always a big hit, especially when viewed on our auditorium's full-size screen and topped off with all the free popcorn you can eat!
Looking for a night of fun? In any given weekend, the S.A.O. may bring you Tron-style lazer-tag, the Think-Fast gameshow, fight-night with Bouncy-Boxing, or a fun afternoon of snow-tubing complete with hot cocoa for everyone.
Looking to get off-campus? The S.A.O. will take you there! With excursions to NYC, the Baltimore inner-harbor, Busch Gardens, Cedar Point, Kennywood, or just down the road to the local shopping malls you won't have the chance to get cabin fever.
Hey, Sports Fans! We've got your ticket. The S.A.O. regulary offers tickets to local minor-league play in baseball with the Altoona Curve and indoor ice-hockey with the Johnstown Chiefs.
Not only does the S.A.O. support the local sports scene, but we just so happen to be the biggest fans in Red Flash Athletics. We've got our own V.I.P. seating sections at DeGol Field and DeGol Arena for all the Red Flash action you can handle. The S.A.O.'s own Flash Flood is the uber-fanatic's fan club. So, com'on and Spread the RED!!!

SAO also plans the University's "Major Weekends" like Family Weekend, Homecoming, Winter Weekend, and Springfest.

Our annual Homecoming celebration has transitioned from a "Major Weekend" to more of a "Major Week". Nearly an entire week's worth of cool events, awesome performances, and great activities. Homecoming has become quite the tradition to sport your SFU pride and take advantage of wearing this season's hottest color...RED! Winter Weekend is a fun and frosty fiesta to celebrate our coolest season of the year...Winter! Winter Weekend will include a semi-formal dance, a casino-night, and many other cool collaborations for you to enjoy. Stay cool and check out Winter Weekend!
What would a year in Loretto be without Springfest?! Springfest is our very own end-of-the-year, can't-wait-for-Summer carnival happening just before Finals week to help you shake those pre-Finals jitters. Springfest brings games, food, and live performances to set your mind at ease and see you off right for the Summer break. Get HOT, pass those Finals, and kick-back at Springfest!
