Political Science Program

 

Political Science Fellowship

Required Criteria:

*          Minimum High School Grade Point Average 3.5
*          Minimum SAT 1100 Total
*          Interview with Department
*          Letter of  Recommendation from High School Civics or Government Teacher
*          Award Limit:  Ten students per year

Amount: $1,000 (renewable)

Conditions:

*          Must remain a political science or public administration/government service major.
*          The scholar agrees to participate in the planning and implementation of one Mock National Convention while enrolled at Saint Francis University.
*          The scholar agrees to be actively involved in the Current Affairs Club or the Pre-Law Club.
*          At least one study-abroad or internship experience is required before graduation.
*          After completing twenty-eight credits (sophomore status), must maintain a minimum Q.P.A. of 3.00

Student selects at least two (2) of the following for each upcoming academic year (subject to annual review and modification after departmental meeting with the student scholar).

*          The scholar agrees to be involved in a research project (including work with archival materials) with a member of the political science faculty.
*          The scholar agrees to present a research paper at the Saint Francis University Political Science Research Forum or at a suitable professional conference held elsewhere.
*          The scholar agrees to provide tutoring, as needed, for students enrolled in political science classes.
*          The scholar agrees to participate in the planning and implementation of Model United Nations activities.
*          The scholar agrees to participate in the planning and implementation of Moot Court activities.
*          The scholar agrees to speak with prospective students and assist with departmental recruiting activities.
