Mission Statement
The Saint Francis University physical therapy faculty educates competent, ethical, caring doctors of physical therapy who practice autonomously, at entry-level, in a complex healthcare environment, and who demonstrate critical thinking, cultural competence, and an evidence-based approach.
Department Philosophy
The educational approach at Saint Francis University reflects the philosophy that a solid yet diverse academic base, critical thinking skills, a strong moral foundation, and a love for lifelong learning are essential tools for success in the world. The philosophies of the University and the department are complimentary. The philosophy of the department, which will lead to the successful realization of its mission, can be described in five main statements:
Theories of learning in adulthood are useful guides for physical therapist professional education, curriculum development, faculty evaluation and development, and related departmental academic and administrative services.
