Physical Therapy Program

Below is the paradigm for students who enroll as freshmen in the six-year entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program.  Three years of pre-professional coursework are followed by a three-year professional curriculum.  Advancement to the professional curriculum is guaranteed provided the student meets the specified progression criteria.

Six elective credits must be from psychology. The six elective psychology credits must be taken from any two of the following courses:

  • PSYC 205 Abnormal Psychology 

  • PSYC 209 Developmental Psychology 

  • PSYC 302 Sensation and Perception 

  • PSYC 304 Social Psychology 

  • PSYC 314 Biopsychology

NEURO 279: Intro to Neuroscience is recommended as a free elective, but not required.

STAT 101: The Department of Physical Therapy requires that Statistics 101 be taken during the junior year.

Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree earned after 4 years.  (Total Credits: 134)
