Overview of the Department

PA Students Professional

The Department of Physician Assistant Science offers three masters degrees.

  • Master of Physician Assistant Science.

    • A five-year program for entry-level students who are interested in becoming a physician assistant.

    • A two-year program for transfer students who already possess a baccalaureate degree.

  • Master of Medical Science

    • A web-based program offered to full time Physician Assistant students enrolled in an affiliated community college.  Students will complete MMS course work concurrently with their clinical PA training.

  • Master of Health Science

    • An on-line post-baccalaureate degree program designed for professionals in the healthcare setting who hold a baccalaureate degree and desire to pursue graduate education.  The multidisciplinary design of the program is designed to address the educational needs of health professionals in their roles as clinicians, health educators, researchers, health administrators and a variety of other health settings.

There are many characteristics which make this PA Department unique and very successful. One of the most attractive features is the commitment of the faculty. The number of full-time, Department faculty allows the student frequent opportunities for individual advising and counseling opportunities.The Department faculty at Saint Francis emphasizes a close one-to-one interaction which facilitates the educational process. This dedication, coupled with high quality instruction, attracts students from a variety of educational, professional and cultural backgrounds.
