WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Oct. 6, 2006) – The Saint Francis University Men’s Soccer team tied for a second consecutive match Friday, this time in a 1-1 draw with Northeast Conference rival Monmouth.
Under a gray sky and persistent rain, the Red Flash drew first blood as junior Bryce Lutzen (Denver, CO / Denver Lutheran) fired his second goal of the season off of a penalty kick rebound.
Less than three minutes later at 89:58, Monmouth’s Steven Holloway knotted the score with his tenth goal of the season off of a free kick from about 25 yards out.
Saint Francis keeper Brad Williams (San Lorenzo, CA / Arroyo) compiled a match high five saves, while his counterpart Daniel Schenkel stopped three. Both teams had one team save to their respective credit.
Saint Francis returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 8 when the visit Mount Saint Mary’s. That match is slated to start at 1 p.m
