Red Flash Men's Soccer Battles Robert Morris to Scoreless Tie

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.  (Oct. 1, 2006) – Sophomore goalkeeper Brad Williams (San Lorenzo, Calif. / Arroyo) stopped two shots and the Saint Francis men’s soccer team outshot Robert Morris 22-7 but drew a scoreless draw in both teams’ Northeast Conference openers on Saturday in Moon Township, Pa.

The Red Flash had several outstanding scoring chances in the match, including two at the end of regulation where Colonials goalkeeper Matt Felice made two stops to keep the game knotted at 0-0.

The Red Flash moved their record to 3-5-2 overall, and 0-0-1 in the Northeast Conference. They will continue conference play with a 3 p.m. game on Friday at Monmouth.

“We played a great game today,” said Saint Francis coach B.J. Craig. “We are doing everything that we need to do. The Robert Morris goalkeeper made two saves at the end of the game off of a corner kick. The goalkeeping was superb again. If we keep playing the way that we are, we will be next weekend. Our guys should keep their heads up, they are playing well right now.”

Sophomore Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe (Greenbelt, Md. / Eleanor Roosevelt), junior Jarron Brooks (Mitchellville, Md. / Archbishop Carroll) and sophomore Aaron Clapham (Christchurch, New Zealand / Aranui) led the Red Flash with four shots each.
