Red Flash’s Jarron Brooks Named to 2005 NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team

LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 16, 2005) – Saint Francis sophomore defender Jarron Brooks (Mitchellville, Md./Archbishop Carroll) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team. Brooks was one of only two sophomores named to the first team, and he joined Monmouth defender Hugh McDonald as the only Northeast Conference players on the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team.

Brooks was previously honored as a member of the All-Northeast Conference second team for the second straight year.

As a sophomore defender, he finished with 1 goal and 3 assists in leading the Red Flash to their second straight winning season. He anchored a defense which set school records with 7 shutouts and a 0.77 goals against average. Brooks started all 18 games this season, and has started in 35 of the 37 games in which he has played during his career. Brooks has paced the Red Flash to a two-year record of 17-12-8.

He helped the Saint Francis defense lead the Northeast Conference in goals allowed per game (0.83) and goals against average (0.77), which also ranked 19th in the nation. The Red Flash’s 7 shutouts were second in the Northeast Conference.
