Loretto, Pa. (9/5/2006) – Strong showings against premiere programs by the Saint Francis Men’s Soccer team haven’t gone unnoticed in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas® North Atlantic Regional Rankings. The Red Flash earned the number five spot in the September 5 poll.
Northeast Conference rivals Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut State rank first and second in the poll, respectively. Both teams also appear in the NSCAA/adidas® National Rankings.
Saint Francis looks to rebound from consecutive losses after a 1-1 start to the season. The Flash downed Western Michigan 2-1 in overtime after a season-opening loss to Bradley.
SFU dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Drexel at in their home opener on Sept. 1 and took nationally-ranked Akron to overtime in their next match, eventually falling 2-1.
The Flash return home to take on a 1-1-1 Bucknell squad at Stokes Soccer Complex on Sept. 6. That match gets underway at 4 p.m.
