Patrick McCloskey, OFM
Pat McCloskey, OFM is a Friar Minor of the Province of St. John the Baptist, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his first profession in 1968, his final profession three years later and was ordained a priest in 1975. Besides teaching at Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati for 16 years, he has edited audiotapes and assisted in promotion work for St. Anthony Messenger Press and has served as Director of Communications at the OFM general headquarters in Rome (1986-92). He became associate editor of St. Anthony Messenger in 1999 and editor of that magazine in 2002. The author of five books and a contributor to several others, he holds the following degrees: B.A. in philosophy; M.A. in theology; Master of Divinity; and an M.A. in Franciscan studies. Pat is very interested in how our mental images of God, self and others interact with each other and influence our prayer. Conversion necessarily affects these mental images and how we pray. Pat has given retreats, days of recollection and adult education presentations over the years. He has visited India, China, Taiwan, Mexico, Israel and many European countries for the Order's business. He speaks Italian and reads Spanish.
