The Skinny

Marquis Ford struggled from outside the 3-point arc in 2007-08, but is still considered one of the top 3-point threats in the Northeast Conference...as a sophomore, Ford led all NEC players with a 51.0 percent success rate from long distance...made 30-38 free throw attempts in 2007-08 for a career best 78.9 percent success rate...brings 79 games of experience, including 51 career starts, to the Red Flash.

Junior Year (2007-08)

 Went 2-of-3 from the field for 5 points, 1 steal and 1 assist at Penn State (11/12/07)...scored a season-high 8 points in 22 minutes off the bench at La Salle (11/24/07)...had 11 points, 3 rebounds and season-high 6 assists against Youngstown State (11/28/07)...scored 9 points and pitched in with a season-high 6 assists in win over Lock Haven (12/15/07)...tallied 13 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench against Iona (12/19/07)...tallied 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in triple overtime victory over St. Francis-NY (1/24/08)...made all four of his field goal attempts for 12 points and added 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists at Sacred Heart (2/16/08)...scored a season-high 14 points and added 4 rebounds and 3 assists in second-to-last game at Monmouth (2/28/08)

Sophomore Year (2006-07)

Ford led all NEC players with a 51.0 percent success rate from three-point land...despite missing first five games of season, ranked eighth in the league with 51 three-pointers...was seventh in the NEC with 4.08 apg, and 13th with a 1.20 assist-to-turnover ratio...averaged 9.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg during sophomore campaign...set career highs with 18 points and 7 rebounds to go along with 2 assists in leading the Red Flash to NEC-opening win at St. Francis-NY (12/7/06)...scored 9 points and tied a career high with 6 assists at Sacred Heart (12/9/06)...had 16 points, including a pair of critical 3-pointers, along with 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals to lead Red Flash over Liberty (12/16/06)...tied career highs with 7 rebounds and 6 assists at Georgia Tech (12/30/06)...scored 14 points, tied a career high with 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists at American (1/2/07)...had 13 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists against Quinnipiac (1/6/07)...scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds and 3 assists at FDU (1/11/07)...tallied 15 points with 2 rebounds and 3 assists against MSM (1/18/07)...had 15 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in career high 39 minutes against Sacred Heart (1/20/07)...scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and added 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 assists at Robert Morris (2/3/07)...scored 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from long range and added 4 assists in win over St.  Francis-NY (2/15/07)...had 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point territory to go with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in win at Quinnipiac (2/22/07)...scored 13 points to go along with 5 rebounds and a career high 7 assists in season-ending win over Monmouth (2/26/07).


Freshman Year (2005-06)

Earned a spot on the Northeast Conference all-Rookie team after a stellar freshman campaign...averaged 6.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg and was second on the team with 75 assists, despite playing minimal minutes early in the 2005-06 season...turned in 11 double-digit scoring efforts, including nine in final 11 contests...played 7 minutes in each of the first two games against Cornell (11/8/05) and Bethune-Cookman (11/9/05) at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic...picked up first two career assists against Bethune-Cookman (11/9/05)...scored 6 points and had 3 assists in win over Lock Haven (11/21/05)...chipped in with 8 points, adding 3 assists, in just 17 minutes against Sacred Heart (12/10/05)...posted 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting, adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists at Monmouth (1/9/06)...scored 10 points, tied a career high with 5 rebounds, set a career high with 6 assists, and had career highs with 6 free throws in 8 attempts in first career start against Long Island (1/12/06)...had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in win at Wagner (1/19/06)...scored 10 points, pulled down 4 rebounds and had 2 assists at Sacred Heart (1/21/06)...tallied a career high 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point land, and 6-of-10 shooting overall against Fairleigh Dickinson (1/26/06)...scored 10 points and had 4 assists against Monmouth (1/28/06)...tied career highs with 17 points and 6 assists against Quinnipiac (2/10/06)...had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in win over Central Connecticut State (2/12/06)...scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting at Saint Francis-NY (2/16/06)...had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists at Long Island (2/18/06).

St. Petersburg HS

Ford played for head coach Chris Blackwell at St. Petersburg High School, where he led the Green Devils to a district championship, regional quarterfinal championship, and a district runner-up...two-time first team all-county and all-conference...second team all-Suncoast; MVP North and South Pinellas All-Star game...three-time assist leader in Pinellas County...Pinellas County Player-of-the-Week honoree...all-state honorable mention...2005 team MVP when he averaged 14.4 ppg, 7.4 apg, 3.4 spg and 3.2 rpg...lettered four years in basketball, and three years in baseball...member of National Honor Society...an Ebony Scholar.
