Grant SurprenantThe Skinny

One of the top threats from outside the arc in the Northeast Conference...led the NEC with a scorching 52.2 percent 3-point field goal percentage as a junior...only made it to the charity stripe six times in 2007-08 but made all six attempts...Surprenant has a career 39.3 percent success rate from outside the arc. 

Junior Year (2007-08)

 Hit a career high 6 three pointers and scored 20 points at Penn State (11/12/07)...Made 4-of-7 from the field and scored 10 points vs. Morgan State (11/14/07)...was 2-for-2 from the field for 5 points in 9 minutes in win over Lock Haven (12/15/07)...had 10 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal in 10 minutes off the bench at Duquesne (12/22/07)...tallied 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting outside the arc, and added 2 assists and a career high 2 blocks at Arizona State (12/29/07)...had 6 points on 3-of-4 shooting and added 2 rebounds and 1 steal at CCSU (1/10/08)...hit 3-pointers at the end of the first and second overtimes to keep the game alive on his way to tallying 18 points and 2 rebounds in a thrilling triple overtime victory over SFC (1/24/08)...made all three of his 3-point attempts for 9 points and 2 rebounds against Wagner (2/21/08).

Sophomore Year (2006-07)

Played in 26 games, making 13-of-36 three-point attempts in 2006-07...was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc in scoring 12 points and adding 3 rebounds in SFU’s 94-60 season-opening win over Lock Haven (11/18/06)...had 3 points on 1-of-2 shooting at Howard (11/27/06)...scored 8 points, had 2 rebounds and 1 block against MSM (01/18/07)...had 5 points in season-high 20 minutes against Sacred Heart (1/20/07)...scored 5 points and had a rebound at Monmouth (1/25/07)...had 6 points, 2 rebounds and 1 block in just three minutes in win over St. Francis-NY (2/15/07).

Freshman Year (2005-06)

Surprenant earned a starting spot in just the third game of his freshman season, and went on to start 24 of 28 games...scored his first 3 career points in his second game, also pulling down 2 rebounds and dishing out 1 assist against Bethune-Cookman (11/9/05)...scored 9 points, all off 3-pointers, and had 1 assist in first career start, in home-opening win over Youngstown State (11/19/05)...had a game-high 26 points, including 5-of-10 on 3-pointers, and added 5 rebounds at No. 19 George Washington (11/30/05)...scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from outside the arc at Saint Bonaventure (12/3/05)...was named Northeast Conference Choice Hotels Rookie-of-the-Week on Dec. 5, for his efforts at George Washington and Saint Bonaventure...had double-digits in scoring for third straight game with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from outside the arc against Sacred Heart (12/10/05)...tallied his fourth straight double-digit effort with 16 points, and added 3 rebounds, at Penn State (12/18/05)...scored 10 points and had 2 steals at La Salle (12/28/05)...had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists against American (1/2/06)...had a team-high 16 points, adding 3 rebounds and a steal at Fairleigh Dickinson (1/6/06)...had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist at Monmouth (1/9/06)...scored 11 points, making 3-of-7 three-point attempts, against Long Island (1/12/06)...scored all 11 of his points in the second half in helping Saint Francis rally for a win at Wagner (1/19/06)...scored 17 points, including 5-of-9 shooting from outside the 3-point line, and pulled down 4 rebounds at Robert Morris (1/24/06)...had 14 points and a career high 6 rebounds to go along with 2 steals against Monmouth (1/28/06)...had 7 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals at SFNY (2/16/06).

Palatine High School

Surprenant scored 1,024 points and made a school-record 163 3-pointers while playing for head coach Ed Molitor at Palatine High School...was a 3-time all-conference selection, 2-time honorable mention all-area, and a team MVP...averaged 17.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 4 apg in 2004-05...averaged 15.5 ppg during his junior season, while making 38 percent of his 3-point attempts, 80 percent of his free throws, and 42 percent of his field goals...also averaged 4 apg and 4 rpg...2004 Reebok Challenge and Kentucky Hoopfest all-tournament team member...Thanksgiving all-tournament team selection...a member of the National Honor Society...was on the Principal Advisory Board...an honor roll student, and member of the Varsity Club.
