
The John F. Kennedy Center is here to serve the needs of the Saint Francis University students, faculty and staff, as well as the local community. Whether you come to the JFK Center to participate in structured programs and events, to take part in a class, meeting, or workshop; or just to relax or grab a bite to eat, we hope you will feel at home here, and that you will take advantage of the facilities and many services.
The Center for Student Life Located in the upper level of the JFK Center, the Center for Student Life provides information and support for the many clubs and organizations, fraternities and sororities at Saint Francis. The office also maintains the master calendar for all University activities and events, fundraisers, and coordinates vehicle usage for SAO vans. The Office of Greek Life Located adjacent to the Center for Student Life in the upper level of the JFK Center, the Office of Greek Life serves as a function of the Center for Student Life. Greek Life is a historic and traditional aspect of college life and has been a part of SFU history since 1947. JFK Lounge Located in the upper level of JFK offers everyone an area to relax, study, and just “chill” in the company of friends. A variety of events take place here throughout the year, including dances, speakers, and meetings, as well as large events, including Founders Day, the University Gala, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art functions, and the Commencement Weekend President’s Reception. During Family Weekend the Lounge is transformed into the Family FUN Center that entertains students and their families with miniature golf, race cars, balloon artists, caricaturists, arts and crafts, etc.
Information Desk Staffed with SFU students, the Info Desk can provide information on just about everything, ranging from local attractions to on-campus events. The JFK Information Desk is located in upper level of the center in the JFK Lobby, and serves as the clearinghouse for information about events and activities in JFK. Clubs and organizations, students, staff and visitors to the JFK Center may visit the Info Desk to pick up scheduling and fundraiser forms, SGA check request forms, or many of the same brochures and flyers available in the Center for Student Life. Students who wish to play pool or video games can pick up the equipment at the JFK Info Desk. Play is free with an SFU ID card.
Auditorium The air-conditioned Auditorium is home to a major portion of programs at Saint Francis. The venue seats 580 people. Movies, concerts, speakers, plays, and talent shows can all be found here throughout the year at little or no cost.
Frankie’s Cafe (lower level) offers food and recreation options for the SFU community and visitors to the campus. Frankie's eatery offers daily entree specials, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads, fast food options, pizza beverage and snack items as well as ice cream. The lounge area contains a large screen TV and two plasma TVs with cable TV service, and a pool table, as well as a stage where anyone from comedians to students perform. Conference Room & Greek Community Room The Conference Room and the Greek Community Room are adjacent to Frankie’s. Both spaces accommodate 15 -20 people and are available for meetings and conferences. There is a TV/VCR and other AV equipment available for groups to use. Scheduling is done through the Center for Student Life.
Student Health Center Located in the upper level of the JFK Center. Health Center services are available to resident and commuter students, provided your medical history and immunization records are on file. If you become ill, report to the center. You may be given an excuse for classes only in extreme emergencies, if you have been hospitalized or sent home for an illness by the physicians. SFU Bookstore Located in the lower level of the JFK Center. The Bookstore sells all textbooks, paper, notebooks, greeting cards, gift items, health and beauty products, film, and SFU clothing. Student Government Association Office SGA serves as the official vehicle for student opinion voiced to and from the college community and protects the individual rights and freedoms of the students. Student Activities Organization Office SAO is the major programming organization at SFU. The goal is to provide a variety of quality entertainment and educational programs for the college community. Troubadour/Bell Tower Office The school newspaper, Troubadour, is published once every two weeks. New writers are always welcome as are letters to the editors. The paper is distributed on racks throughout the campus. The Bell Tower staff works throughout the year to produce the yearbook, which is distributed in the Fall. The editors welcome help and personal pictures taken around the campus by the students.

Today's Student Center is the gathering place of the University, traditionally considered the "hearth stone" or "living room" of the campus. The JFK Student Center creates an environment for getting to know and understand others through formal and informal associations and provides services and conveniences that members of the college community need in their daily lives.
