LORETTO, Pa.  (Sept. 13, 2006) – Saint Francis University senior golfer, Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll Collegiate), finished second at the Colgate Fall Invitational last week to earn himself the recognition of Northeast Conference Golfer-of-the-Week. 

Over the two day tournament, Wheeler finished with a score of 145 (72-73).  His tie for second helped lead his team to a third place finish out of seventeen teams.  This tournament was the first of the season as the Saint Francis men begin to defend their title of NEC champions. 

Other Saint Francis competitors included Matt Gowdy, tied for 14^th with a 150 (77-73), Mike Magalski, 153 (77-76), Steve Foisy, 154 (77-77), and Mike Hammond, 159 (82-77).  The golfers now look forward to the upcoming invitational in Bucknell this Friday and Saturday.
