TEGA CAY, S.C. (Mar. 18, 2007) – Senior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon) and junior Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) shot a team-best round of 84 on Sunday to help lead the Saint Francis women’s golf team to a 13th-place finish in their spring opener at the Shamrock Invitational.
The Red Flash, who are the defending Northeast Conference Champions, shot a second round 347 to best their first round score of 369. Saint Francis’ two-round 716 was seven strokes behind 12th place Longwood, and six strokes better than Belmont Abbey College. The Red Flash were 14th after Day 1 of the competition.
Schaeffer paced the team with a 85-84-169 to finish tied for 25th, while Milosh shot 88-84-172 to take 37th.
Sophomore Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) took 64th with a 94-91-185, junior Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver) shot 102-88-190 for 73rd, and freshman Katelyn Waghorn (Basking Ridge, N.J. / Ridge) shot 106-95-201 to take 81st.
