Milosh Eyeing Top-10 Finish at Rocket Spring Classic
TOLEDO, Ohio (April 17, 2006) – Saint Francis University sophomore Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa.) carded a two round 14-over par 156 total and is tied for 10th place after the first day of competition at Toledo’s Rocket Spring Classic held at Dornoch Golf Club on Monday.
The Red Flash are in seventh place in the 11 team field with a team total of 670 (334-336). SFU will wrap up play on the par 71, 5,882-yard Dornoch Golf Club layout with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start on Tuesday.
Milosh’s 5-over 76 was the fourth best round of the second 18 holes played on Monday. The reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year was in a tie for 19th after her first round 80, but moved up nine spots with her solid second round.
Junior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa.) is tied for 21st following a two-round 20-over 162 (82-80), followed by senior Mary Kate Williams’ (Somerville, N.J.) 166 (82-84). Sophomore Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa.) is 55th following a 186 (90-96).
