Milosh, Schaeffer Post Top-15 Finishes at Toledo’s Rocket Spring Classic
TOLEDO, Ohio (April 18, 2006) – Saint Francis University sophomore Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa.) fired her second straight round in the 70’s, a 6-over par 77, in the final round to finish in a tie for seventh place at Toledo’s Rocket Spring Classic on Tuesday.
Milosh finished with a three-round 233 (80-76-77) total to tie with Eastern Michigan’s Paola Sanchez for seventh place. Saint Francis finished seventh out of 11 teams at the event with a 996 team total (334-336-326). Eastern Michigan claimed the team title with a 900 (297-299-304). 57 golfers competed in the event, held at the par 71, 5,882-yard Dornoch Golf Club.
Junior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa.) carded the eighth best round of the day on Monday, a 4-over 75, to jump from a tie for 21st to a tie for 14th. Schaeffer finished with a three-round 237 total (82-80-75).
Senior Mary Kate Williams (Somerville, N.J.) closed with an 82 and tied for 30th place with a 248 (82-84-82). Sophomore Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa.) finished in 56th place with a 278 (90-96-92).
Saint Francis will next compete at the Northeast Conference Championship, to be held at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., on April 29 and 30. The Flash will be looking for their record sixth crown in the eight-year history of the event
