STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2006) –Freshman Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) shot a third round 85 on Sunday, and led all Saint Francis golfers with a 38th place finish, to pace the Red Flash women’s golf team to a 12th place finish this weekend at the Nittany Lion Women’s Invitational.
Penn State won the tournament with a 314-307-306-927. Washington (314-315-308-937) and Yale (329-307-301-937) tied for second, and UNC-Greensboro (326-309-330-965) and Rollins (313-326-326-965) tied for fourth. The Red Flash finished 12th out of 14 teams with a 341-344-347-1032.
Kocin finished with a 85-78-85-248 to take 38th, followed by senior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon) with a 85-84-83-252 and junior Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) with a 78-85-89-252 to finish tied for 44th. Freshman Katelyn Waghorn (Basking Ridge, N.J. / Ridge) took 75th with a 93-97-90-280.
The Red Flash will be back in action when they play at the Bucknell Bison Classic next Saturday and Sunday
