Milosh Among Leaders at Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2006) – Junior Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) and the Saint Francis women’s golf team began the 2006-07 season on Friday, by opening play at the Nittany Lions Women’s Invitational with a 10th-place showing after the first day.

Milosh finds herself among the leaders after firing a 6-over-par 78 on Penn State’s par-72, 6,300-yard White Course. She is currently in a tie for eighth place, just three strokes off the pace.

The Red Flash are 10th out of 14 teams after carding a 341. Rollins is in first (313), Washington and Penn State are tied for second (314), UNC-Greensboro is fourth (326) and Richmond is fifth (327).

Day 2 will begin with a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start on Saturday. The tournament will wrap up with a final round beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Freshman Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) and senior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon) are tied for 43rd with 85, while freshman Katelyn Waghorn (Basking Ridge, N.J. / Ridge) is 69th with a 93.
