Red Flash Women’s Golf Team Wraps Up NCAA Central Regional in 21st Place
COLLEGE STATION, Texas. (May 13, 2006) – The Saint Francis women’s golf team wrapped up its fourth NCAA Regional appearance by finishing with its best round of golf at the event to take 21st place at the Traditions Club on the campus of Texas A&M University.
The Red Flash shot a 355-361-351-1067 during the tournament. Southern California won the event with a plus-19 293-304-286-883.
Sophomore Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa./Central) also had her best round of golf on Saturday with a plus-10 82, and finished tied for 93rd.
Junior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon) carded an 85 on the final day, also her best round, to finish with 88-92-85-265.
Senior Mary Kate Williams (Somerville, N.J./Immaculata) finished with 90-88-89-267, while sophomore Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) carded 94-96-95-285.
The top eight teams and the top two individuals from the central regional advanced to participate in the NCAA Championships. The Red Flash qualified for the NCAA Regionals by winning the Northeast Conference Championship for a conference-record sixth time.
