SUNSET BEACH, N.C. (May 5, 2007) – Junior Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Academie Les Estacades) fired a second round 77 to lead the Saint Francis men’s golf team to a 297-305-602 and third place showing after Day 2 at the 2007 Northeast Conference men’s golf tournament, which is being held at the Sea Trail Golf Resort in Sunset Beach, N.C.

The Red Flash are tied with Robert Morris (306-296-602), while Sacred Heart is first (298-298-596), Monmouth is second (295-306-601) and Long Island is fifth (302-302-604).

Foisy is tied for third in the individual standings with a 70-77-147, four strokes off the lead of Patrick Kelly of Long Island.

Freshman Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) is 11^th with 75-75-150, senior Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario / Ingersoll Intercollegiate) is 17^th with 76-76-152, and junior Matt Gowdy (London, Ontario / AB Lucas) is 19^th with 76-77-153.

The third, and final day, of the Northeast Conference Men’s Golf Tournament will be held beginning at 7:27 a.m. on Sunday. The conference championship is a three-day, 54-hole event. Team scores are calculated by adding the team’s four lowest scores from each day. The top-10 finishers are selected as all-NEC performers.
