Saint Francis Women’s Golf Team in 21st After Day 1 At NCAA Regionals
COLLEGE STATION, Texas. (May 11, 2006) – Sophomore Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa./Central) carded a 2-over-par 38 on the back nine to rebound from a tough start in leading the Saint Francis women’s golf team during the first round of the NCAA Central Regional at the Traditions Club on the campus of Texas A&M University.
Milosh fired an overall 11-over-par 83, and sits in a tie for 75th place after Round 1.
The Red Flash are in 21st place after shooting a 355.
The second round of action will be held on Friday.
Junior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa./Eastern Lebanon) carded a 16-over-par 88, while senior Mary Kate Williams (Somerville, N.J./Immaculata) shot 90, and sophomore Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) finished with a first-round 94.
The Red Flash are competing in an NCAA Regional for the fourth time in school history after winning their NEC-record sixth conference title two weekends ago.
