LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (April 21, 2007) – The Saint Francis University men’s golf team slipped one spot to finish ninth at the Mount St. Mary’s Spring Invitational, carding a team score of 926. Longwood University cruised to the tournament championship recording a collective 881 at the event, 11 strokes better than second place Mount St. Mary’s.
Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec/Academie Les Estacades) moved up one place on the final day to finish in a tie for sixth individually, firing a 222 (73-75-74) over the two day event. Longwood’s Adam Webb claimed the individual title, shooting a 216 (72-74-70).
Senior Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll Collegiate) completed the event in 34th place, shooting a 232 (78-76-78). Freshman Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) (237 (78-82-77)), senior Craig Alvaro (Saint Thomas, Ontario, Canada/Parkside Collegiate) (239 (77-79-83)), and senior Mike Hammond (London, Ontario/Catholic Central) (241 (76-84-81)) rounded out the scoring.
