LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (April 20, 2007) – The Saint Francis University men’s golf team finish the first day of competition at the Mount St. Mary’s Spring Invitational tied for eight place, carding a team 616 for the first round. Northeast Conference rival Monmouth matched the Red Flash on the day which was dominated by Longwood who shot a collective 586.
Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec/Academie Les Estacades) finished the day in seventh place individually, carding a 148 (73-75). Longwood’s Mark Coradi paced the field shooting a superlative 143 (73-70).
Senior Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll Collegiate) completed the round in 32nd place, shooting a 154 (78-76). Craig Alvaro (Saint Thomas, Ontario, Canada/Parkside Collegiate) (156 (77-79)), Mike Hammond (London, Ontario/Catholic Central) (160 (76-84)), and Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) (160 (78-82)) rounded out the scoring.
