ANN ARBOR, Mich.. (May 10, 2007) – Senior Megan Schaeffer (Richland, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon) shot an 11-over-par 82 to lead the Saint Francis women’s golf team on the first day of the NCAA Central Regional, which is being hosted at the U-M Golf Course by the University of Michigan.
The Red Flash are in 21st place after carding a 342. The second day of action will begin at about 8 a.m. on Friday.
Schaeffer is tied for 94th place with her first round 82, and was followed by freshman Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) with a 13-over-par 84, which puts her in 101st. Junior Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) is in 106th with an 87, and junior Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver) is in 107th with an 89.
Milosh won the individual title to lead Saint Francis to its second straight Northeast Conference title two weekends ago.
