LEWISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2006) – The Saint Francis Men’s Golf Team fired a collective 295 in the third and final round of the Bucknell Invitational, good enough for the Flash to nail down a fourth-place finish.
The top performer for the Red Flash on the tournament’s second day was senior Nick Wheeler (Ingersoll, Ontario / Ingersoll Collegiate) who shot a two-over-par 72. Finishing a stroke behind Wheeler were freshman Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) and junior Matt Gowdy (London, Ontario / A.B. Lucas).
Magalski was Saint Francis top performer overall finishing just three over par on the weekend compiling a composite score of 213 (69-71-73) – good enough for a fourth place individual finish.
Backing up Magalski, Wheeler, and Gowdy were junior Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec / Academie Les Estacades) finishing at 225 (76-72-77) and senior Craig Alvaro (Saint Thomas, Ontario, Canada / Parkside Collegiate) at 235 (79-77-79).
SFU’s Chad Walker (St. Thomas, Ontario / Central Elgin Collegiate Institute), a freshman, also competed, shooting 241 (83-80-78) on the weekend.
