LORETTO, Pa. (Aug. 29, 2006) – After a strong start, the Saint Francis Field Hockey team gave way to a much deeper Bucknell Bison team in their season opener at DeGol Field, falling by a final score of 10-2.
The Red Flash jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by junior Annie Paccione (Red Hook, N.Y. / Red Hook). Paccione added a second goal later in the half.
Lynne Kovolisky (Clark, N.J. / Arthur L. Johnson) and Jesse Erhardt (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) each registered a shot on goal for the Flash.
Kelly Hoffman and Katie Urosevich led the offensive charge for Bucknell with two goals apiece.
With the win, Bucknell improves to 2-0 on the season.
Saint Francis returns to action this Friday when they host Georgetown at 6 p.m.
