Loretto, Pa. (Sept. 1, 2006) – After the first half of play versus the Georgetown Hoyas, Liz deSimas’ Red Flash squad looked poised to fight for it’s first win of the young season. However, a sparkling performance by Hoyas’ goalkeeper Abby Winer kept Saint Francis out of the win column for one more game, dropping the Flash to 0-2 by a 3-0 score at rain-soaked DeGol Field on Friday.
Winer’s night overshadowed a solid three-save performance by SFU starting keeper Erin Reifstick (Battle Creek, Mich. / Saint Phillip). Back-up Flash goaltender Kristen Onto also notched a save in the loss.
The Flash’s top offensive performance was once again provided by junior Annie Paccione (Red Hook, N.Y. / Red Hook). Paccione recorded a game-high-tying three shots, two of which were on goal.
Georgetown’s attack was lead by sophomore Katie Lachman who scored two of the Hoyas’ three goals.
Saint Francis returns to action on Sunday when they visit Drexel at 1 p.m.
