FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Oct. 1, 2006) – Despite a match-high seven saves by sophomore goalkeeper Erin Reifstick, the Saint Francis University Field Hockey team fell 7-0 to Sacred Heart in a Northeast Conference match-up. The loss drops the Red Flash to 0-10 overall and 0-2 in the NEC.
Sacred Heart’s Carisa Eye led the Pioneer charge with two goals on five shots. Kelsey Zeyher fired the eventual game-winner 24 minutes into the first half.
Freshman Allison Severage led the Flash with two shots, both of which were on goal. Sophomore Belen Albanes also registered a shot on goal in the losing effort.
Saint Francis returns to action on Oct. 6, 2006 when they host Robert Morris. That game gets underway at 7 p.m.
