LORETTO, Pa. (March 5, 2007) – Five members of the Saint Francis University field hockey team have been named to all-academic teams for their outstanding work in the classroom during the fall 2006 season. Three student-athletes were named to the Northeast Conference All-Academic team, with the same number being named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic team.
Garnering NEC honors were sophomore Laurie Kovolisky (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) with a 3.183 cumulative grade point average, senior Erin Maguire (Jeffersontown, Ky./Presentation Academy) with a 3.441 GPA, and sophomores Erin Reifsteck (Battle Creek, Mich./Saint Phillip’s) and Erin Weaver (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), who posted 3.978 and 3.489 GPAs, respectively. Reifsteck earned a prefect 4.0 last semester, her third such GPA in a row.
Making the NFHCA team were Maguire, Reifsteck, Weaver, and freshman Sara Dittmann (State College, Pa./State College Area), who posted a 3.400 cumulative GPA in her first season with the Red Flash.
Saint Francis also gained an NFHCA team award for earning a collective GPA of 3.132.
