Shoe Clinic for Walkers, Joggers, and Runners

The DiSepio Institute of Rural Health and Wellness, in collaboration with the Cambria County Running and Walking Club, hosted a Shoe Clinic for Runners, Walkers and Joggers on Wed., Sept. 19, 2007 in the Raymond Hall Conference Room. Mr. Curt Kindel, assistant professor of physical therapy, and Mr. Kevin Doyle, manager of Up-N-Runing shoe store (Butler, PA), explained the proper biomechanics of running, the most common running injuries, and why injury prevention begins with picking the correct shoe. This free event was attended by approximately 75 SFU students, faculty, staff and administration as well as members of the broader community. The event was free and open to the general public. CES credit was awarded to 57 SFU students.
