Group Exercise Instructors:
Would you like to make money making other people work? The DiSepio Institute is offering positions as group exercise instructors for this upcoming fall semester. We are looking to hire qualified students that are able to teach group exercise classes to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Job Description: Teach group exercise classes to the University community and broader communities.Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead structured exercise classes (i.e. kickboxing, step, hi/lo, hip hop dance, yoga, pilates, muscle conditioning etc.)
- Assist with the maintenance of exercise equipment (i.e. bosu balls, stability balls, rubber tubing, hand weights, aerobic steps, etc.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of group exercise special events.
- Offer useful, tactful, and safe advice to individuals regarding their exercise program and/or use of equipment.
- Inform facility users of various Campus Recreation sponsored programs.
- Enforce all facility and program policies.
Knowledge / Skills Required for the Job:
Ability to conduct safe and effective exercise classes.
- Experience teaching aerobics to various groups.
- An understanding of strength training and cardiovascular exercise.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to assist individuals in developing a safe and effective exercise program.
- Good communication skills.
- Certification from a national organization is desirable.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
