Adoration - - Adoration with praise and worship is held every Wednesday at 8:00 pm in the Chapel as an opportunity to pray in the presence of the Lord in the Eucharist. Confession is offered following adoration at 9:00 pm. Campus Peer Ministry Program -- A program in which students minister to their peers at SFU. Peer ministers are proactive in witnessing the Gospel values. For more information contact Paul Girardi in the Campus Ministry Office.
Christ on Campus - Want to learn a little more about your Catholic faith but may not know where to start? Why not join Campus Ministry for our Christ on Campus programs and find out what the Church teaches about a whole host of topics that affect our lives every day.Catholic Update -- Have you forgotten how to go to Confession? Do you have questions about the Holy Eucharist? Would you like to receive Confirmation? Are you thinking about getting married? Are you considering a religious vocation: a Priest, Brother, or Sister? Come visit us down in Campus Ministry or give us a call. We’re here for you and will happily try to meet your needs.
Clare for Women -- An opportunity for women to gather and share their faith, reflect on the life of Clare and explore topics pertinent to young college women today. Relationships, self-esteem,finding balance etc. Program will involve sharing, teaching and use of guided meditations. To be held every Wednesday in the meditation room at the Disepio Institute. The first evening will be September 2nd starting at 6:15pm and ending at 7:30pm. Contact Sue in Campus Ministry for more information or to sign up.
Chapel Choirs -- Do you love to sing or play an instrument? Come join one or more of the three Chapel Choirs. The 4:30 pm Saturday choir comprises of contemporary, the 10:00 am Sunday choir comprises of contemporary and modern contemporary music, and the 9:00 pm Sunday choir comprises of modern contemporary music with some contemporary music.
Enjoy a Movie -- Located in the Campus Ministry Center is digital projector which allows you to enjoy TV/DVD/VCR on a large wall screen while sitting back on some comfortable soft sofa chairs. Keep an eye out for Movie nights.
F.I.R.E.starters -- Confirmation is conferred in this Diocese at the close of one’s Junior year of High School. Three retreats are attended in preparation. SFU’s FIREstarters host some of these retreats by performing skits, giving testimonies, heading small group discussions, and using their musical skills to make this a retreat that leaves participants on FIRE with a love for God. Come join us.
Francis for Men--This program looks at St. Francis and helps men realize the common struggles all men face. With Saint Francis as a guide, we will apply Francis’ example, Scripture and one’s masculinity to consider how to rise up to the challenges of today. Great time for fellowship and support.
Liturgical Ministries -- Lectors, extra-ordinary Eucharistic ministers, ushers, and sacristans in addition to helping with various choirs are areas of service just waiting for your talents. Night Of Worship (NOW): NOW is a special night of contemporary praise and worship, led by student musicians one Friday a month, designed to bring Christians together in fellowship with the Lord and one another.
RCIA -- Join Fr. Chris and fellow students. This is a ministry which prepares students and others who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or in becoming Catholic. Meetings are generally once a week on Sunday evenings. Those who have many questions on the Catholic faith or wish to look into becoming Catholic are invited to join RCIA!Saint Francis Peace Club -- Members are active in participating and sponsoring films, speakers, marches and even a Peace Fair.
Servant Leaderhip Forum -- Join in Campus Ministry department for a series of talks designed to discuss what is means to be a Servant Leader in the 21st Century.
Sharers of the Word: Sharers meets every Thursday night at 8:30 pm to praise the Lord in spirit and truth and to grow in the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is meant to draw students into discipleship with the Lord.
Students for Life --The Students for Life group seeks to stimulate the University community into positive action concerning all life issues and supports any non-violent humanitarian and pro-life organizations. We desire to reestablish respect for all human life, starting at conception and ending with natural death, by planning and implementing activities that exemplify love, compassion and help to educate others of the Catholic Church's teaching on these issues. We are a recognized group of the Student Government Association at Saint Francis University. Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff of Saint Francis University wishing to join the organization. New members are welcome to join anytime throughout the year.
