SFU Announces Resignation of Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Felix Moreno
LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men’s and women’s cross country/track & field head coach Felix Moreno has submitted his letter of resignation, effective June 15, Director of Athletics Bob Krimmel announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Krimmel will begin an immediate national search for Moreno’s replacement.
“I would like to thank Felix Moreno for his service to Saint Francis University, and our cross country and track & field teams,” Krimmel said. “I wish Felix and his wife, Laura, the best of luck in their future endeavors.”
Moreno is coming off a successful track & field season in which he led the Red Flash men’s team to the Northeast Conference Indoor championship, as well as a second place finish at the NEC Outdoor championships. He was named the Northeast Conference’s Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach-of-the-Year. During his three-year tenure, Moreno guided his student-athletes to a total of 38 individual titles.
“I never thought that I would ever leave such a great institution and the possibility of not coaching the sport that I love, but at this time, I need to devote more time to my family,” Moreno said. “I have certainly appreciated being a part of an outstanding institution such as Saint Francis University and, more-so, the opportunities that were provided to me during the last two and a half years. As for the athletic department, I cannot say enough wonderful things about it and the staff during my years of service.”
