Eradiri Qualifies for NCAA Regionals at ECAC/IC4A Championships
PRINCETON, N.J./(May 16, 2009) – Denis Eradiri (Sofia, Bulgaria/Vladislav Gramatik), Anna Hoffman (Enon Valley Pa./Mohawk) and Christopher Mills (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) competed at the ECAC/IC4A Track & Field Championships along with select members of the Saint Francis track & field team on Saturday in Princeton, N.J.
To compete at the meet, athletes must meet a qualifying mark or win an event at the Northeast Conference Championships.
Eradiri took third in the men’s long jump with a final distance of 7.50 meters. The mark of 24-07.25 is a new school record and qualifies him for the NCAA regional meet.
Both Hoffman and Mills represented the Red Flash in the distance events. Hoffman finished 25th in the 5,000-mete run in 17:59.88, while Mills took 20th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:46.97.
Jorden Davis (Mississauga, Ontario/Loyola Catholic), who is wrapping up a stellar career with the Red Flash, grabbed 18th place in the 400-mter dash preliminaries with a time oaf 48.18.
Christopher Behre (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) competed in the 800-meter run for SFU, finishing 24th in the prelims with a time of 1:52.12.
For the women, Christin Bridge (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) earned an 18th place finish in the discus throw with a toss of 38.61 meters.
After nine events, the men’s team ranks 22nd with five points, while the women remain unranked. Competition will resume at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
