Mills Honored as NEC Track Rookie-of-the –Week

LORETTO, Pa. (April 15, 2009) – Saint Francis track & field athlete Chris Mills (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) has been named the Road Runner Sports Northeast Conference Rookie-of-the-Week as announced by the league on Wednesday.

Mills, a distance runner, qualified for the IC4A Championships and surged to the top of the NEC’s performance list in the 10,000-meter run at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.  The freshman harrier completed the 10K in 30:53.73 to finish in the top third of a large field.

The Red Flash track & field teams will compete at the Bucknell Team Challenge on April 18-19 in Lewiston before returning home to host the Third Annual Red Flash Open April 25-26th.
