Eradiri Takes Second as Red Flash Compete in Bison Outdoor Open

RESULTS

LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 11, 2009) - Denis Eradiri (Sofia, Bulgaria/Vladislav Gramatik 73) took second in the long jump with a distance of 7.14 meters as the Red Flash track & field teams competed in the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University in Lewisburg on Friday and Saturday.

Eradiri also qualified for the IC4A meet in the event.

Allyson Sheehan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) took eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing the event in 11:18.00. Sarah Grossi (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished 24th in the same event. Andrew McKee (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) took 32nd in the men’s version of the event in a time of 9:57.00, with Adam Mengel (Monaca, Pa./Center) close behind in 35th place.

Anna Hoffman (Enon Valley, Pa./Mohawk) finished the 5000-meter run in 17:44.70, grabbing a 15th place finish. Timothy Wertner (Chambersburg, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) took seventh in the 5,000, crossing the line in 14:56.93. Kyle Gibson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan) and Brent DiGiorgio (Armagh, United) placed 38th and 46th in the event. Christopher Mills (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) earned 12th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 30:53.73.

In the field events, Ben Maderia (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) finished seventh in the hammer throw with a throw of 51.99, with teammate Karl DeWyngaert (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank) taking 17th.

The Red Flash will return to Bucknell on Saturday for the Bucknell Team Challenge.
