Red Flash Women’s Golf Finishes 10th During Three-Round Tina Barrett Invitational
FARMVILLE, Va. (Mar. 31, 2009) – The Saint Francis women’s golf team carded a three-round 362-369-360-1091 during 54 holes on Monday and Tuesday to finish in 10th out of 12 teams at the Tina Barrett Invitational, which was held at the Manor Resort Golf Club in Farmville, Va.
Tournament-host Longwood won the event with a 301-311-302-914, while Akron finished second (326-326-319-971), Radford (333-328-320-981) and Methodist (322-333-326-981) tied for third, and Towson (328-333-330-991) finished fifth.
Sophomore Caryn Doege (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) paced the Red Flash with a three-round 80-85-81-246, which was good for a tie for 17th place.
Junior Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) took 51st with a 94-89-93-276, freshman Skylar Hay (Easton, Pa. / Freedom) finished 54th with 89-96-94-279, sophomore Kaitlin Hensal (Seville, Ohio / Wadsworth) tied for 59th with a 99-99-92-290, and junior Katelyn Waghorn (Basking Ridge, N.J. / Basking Ridge)took 65th after a 111-99-94-304.
The Red Flash will be back in action next Tuesday and Wednesday when they travel to the Mount St. Mary’s Spring Invitational.
