Saint Francis Sits in 11th Place After Day 2 at Winthrop Intercollegiate
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Sophomore Caryn Doege (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) carded a second-round 89 and sits in a tie for 44th place in leading the Saint Francis women’s golf team to an 11th-place showing in the 12-team Winthrop Intercollegiate at Rock Hill Country Club.
The Red Flash have a team score of 357-365-722 after two days of the three-day event. Winthrop leads the event with a 316-309-625, Oral Roberts is second, Yale is tied for third with Minnesota, and High Point is fifth.
Freshman Skyler Hay (Easton, Pa. / Freedom) and sophomore Kaitlin Hensal (Seville, Ohio / Wadsworth) are tied for 59th with 185, sophomore Laura Smith (State Line, Pa. / Greencastle Antrim) is in 62nd with 186, and junior Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) is 65th with a 189. Sophomore Michelle Wetzel (Sewickley, Pa. / North Allegheny) has a two-round 215.
The final round of competition will be on Sunday, with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
