Red Flash Field Hockey Shut Out At St. Joseph’s 4-0
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2008) – Senior goalkeeper Erin Reifsteck (Battle Creek, Mich./Saint Phillip) had 8 saves, but the Saint Francis field hockey team couldn’t find the back of the net as they fell to St. Joseph’s by a score of 4-0 in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.
Scoring started early for the Hawks as Marisa Pizzi sent a pass to Kristina Bordogna who beat Reifsteck to put the St. Joseph’s up 1-0 just 50 seconds into the contest. The duo combined for another goal less than a minute later to put the Hawks up 2-0. Bordogna, who led the way with 6 shots, scored again halfway through the period for a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Kellie Walter, who assisted on Bordogna’s second goal, had a goal of her own off a rebound in the second half to put the game away at 4-0.
Senior forward Belen Albanes (Atlanta Ga./Dunwoody), freshman midfielder Claire Wilkie (Durban, South Africa/Danville Park Girls) and sophomore back Rebecca Reiff (Farmingdale, N.J./Wall) each had a shot on goal for the Red Flash, who were out shot by the Hawks 20-3.
