Red Flash Women’s Basketball Families Come Together for Picnic
LORETTO, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2008) – The Saint Francis women’s basketball players and their families came together on Sunday, September 14, for a fun-filled picnic in Loretto.
Players and their parents were invited to join the coaches and their families at the Immergrun Golf Course Club House for a meet-and-greet affair. Each team member introduced herself to her teammates and their families, and newcomers and their parents were officially welcomed to the Red Flash family.
The event was organized by assistant coach Crystal Horton as a way to enable the families to get to know each other in a relaxed setting before the start of the season. It included all of the typical picnic essentials – hot dogs, hamburgers and potato salad.
“We wanted to generate some excitement for the up coming season,” said Horton, who brought her husband, T.J., and son Nehemiah. “It was a great way for us to get out of the gym for a bit, and for the parents to meet the new staff on a one-on-one basis. Overall, I think everyone had a good time.”
