ROBINSON FRUCHTL ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO RED FLASH WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACHING STAFF

LORETTO, Pa. (May 13, 2008) – Saint Francis University head women’s basketball coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl announced three changes to her coaching staff on Tuesday afternoon.

Robinson Fruchtl announced the resignation of assistant coach Ashli Schwab, who has accepted a teaching position at her high school alma mater.

Robinson Fruchtl also announced the addition of Joseph Haigh and Tiffani Selhorst to her coaching staff. Haigh joins the Red Flash program from Virginia Commonwealth, while Selhorst comes from Ohio University.

“We are excited to have both Joe and Tiffani join our Red Flash family,” said Robinson Fruchtl, who is entering her second season at the helm of the Saint Francis women’s basketball program. “They are great additions to our program and the SFU community.”

Haigh most recently served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. While at VCU, he was responsible for planning and coordinating all team travel and meals, as well as coordination of women’s basketball summer team and skills camps. Haigh also oversaw the team managers, film exchange, the recruiting database, academic affairs and video editing. A business teacher at Patrick Henry High School (Ashland, Va.) since 2005, he brings 10 years of high school, college and club basketball coaching experience to Saint Francis University. Haigh received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame, and received his Master’s of Science in Sport Leadership from VCU.

Under Robinson Fruchtl, Haigh will be responsible for developing the Red Flash post players, camp organization, the Susan’s Sixth Man Kid’s Club, scheduling and the video scouting system. He will also assist in recruiting, scouting, practice planning and game preparation.

“Joe brings some great basketball experiences that will help us continue to improve our players and team,” Robinson Fruchtl added. “He is very eager to get started and will add a great deal of knowledge to our staff that will help us develop the style that we want to play.”

Selhorst comes to Loretto after two years as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Ohio University, where she was responsible for coordinating team travel, team equipment, team special events, while also serving as a liaison with the school’s sports information department. Prior to her time on the Bobcats’ sidelines, she served as a coach with the Dayton Lady Hoopstars from 2002-03 and as the Oakwood Junior High Basketball Coach from 2004-06. Selhorst received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Wright State University, and her Master’s Degree in Recreation and Sport Sciences from Ohio University.

At Saint Francis, Selhorst will serve as the academic support and alumni liaison, while also overseeing community outreach, film exchange, strength & conditioning, team travel, as well as the honorary coach program. She will also assist in recruiting, scouting, practice planning and game preparation.

“Tiffani adds a wide array of knowledge and abilities to our program,” Robinson Fruchtl said. “She was on a staff that built the Ohio University team into a very successful MAC program. Her vision for success and her commitment to excellence will only help our program get to where we want to be in the Northeast Conference.”
