Flash Anxious for Tuesday’s Round after Stringing together a 354 Figure on Day One
Farmville, Va. – The Red Flash women’s golf team tested the waters in their second spring tournament of 2008, holding onto a T-12th finish after day one of the Tina Barrett Invitational being played at The Manor Resort Golf Club. Saint Francis strung together a collective five-round count of 354.
Ball State University currently sits atop the heap of 15 teams after looping The Manor Resort Golf Club for a 308 aggregate.
After nailing down her sixth NEC Golfer-of-the-Week award, senior swinger Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa./Center) landed a top 20 finish with her 18-hole total of 79 (40-39). Milosh is knotted in a four-way stronghold at 13th place with William & Mary’s Erika Oldenkamp and Sarah Whitney as well as host Longwood’s Jessica Williams.
Sophomore Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) put forth her best effort by duplicating 42s for an 84 total listing her in a tie for 33rd. Freshman Caryn Doege (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) slammed a 93 (50-43), putting her in a neck-and-neck race at T-64th at Manor Resort’s 6,108-yard, par 71 layout test. Senior Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) welded together a 98 (50-48) to give SFU a 74th place finish following day one. Newcomer Kaitlin Hensal (Seville, Ohio/ Wadsworth) ended up T-76th after grouping a 101 (50-51).

The event has been shortened to 36-holes due to Monday afternoon’s heavy rain as the Red Flash will conclude competition on Tuesday at The Manor Resort Golf Club.
