SFU Women’s Hoops ‘08 Recruiting Class Getting High Marks
LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 22, 2008) – All-Star Girls Reports, a website which analyzes and ranks NCAA Division I recruiting classes, is calling the inaugural recruiting class by Susan Robinson Fruchtl and her staff the second-best in the Northeast Conference, despite a late start. At the 189th spot, SFU’s five-member class trail’s only Central Connecticut State (175) among NEC teams.
All three incoming guards – Quinessa Johnson (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), Brittany Lilley (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park), and Sarah Thorn (Yardley, Pa/Pennsbury East) – are ranked among the country’s top-950 players by the service.
“We are very excited about our 2008 Recruiting class,” said Saint Francis coach Susan Robinson Fruchtl. “We signed one in every position and we think they will have big impact for us. These five will add much more speed and athleticism and allow us to play a more up tempo style in the future.”
Posts Najah Prescott (Philadelphia, Pa/Cardinal Dougherty) and Kelsey Caruthers (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) round out Robinson Fruchtl’s first staff.
Other recognizable names ranked near Saint Francis are UC – Davis (182), Akron (188), New Mexico State (191), Butler (192), Boston University (197), St. Bonaventure (199), and George Mason (202).
