SFU Women’s Volleyball Team Defeated at CCSU
LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2007) – The Saint Francis women’s volleyball team had no answer for Lauren Snyder in a 3-1 defeat at Central Connecticut State in a Northeast Conference match on Sunday afternoon.
Snyder had 17 kills, 6 service aces and 6 digs in the 30-22, 26-30, 30-18, 30-22 Blue Devils' win.
Sophomore Shirley Miller (Fairless Hills, Pa. / Pennsbury) led the Red Flash with 15 kills and 9 digs along with 3 blocks, junior Kristin Buter (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) added 14 kills, 3 aces, 7 digs and 2 blocks, and sophomore Rikki Myers (Noblesville, Ind. / Westfield) dished out 47 assists. Junior Keshia Gibbs (Dumfries, Va. / Forest Park) also had 9 kills and 5 blocks, and freshman Lindsay Malloy (Gallitzin, Pa. / Penn Cambria) had 9 kills, 3 digs and 4 blocks.
Saint Francis dropped to 9-19 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast Conference. The Red Flash return home for a pair of critical NEC matches next weekend. They will host Sacred Heart at 5 p.m. on Saturday following the Homecoming football game, and will then play Fairleigh Dickinson at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
