Saint Francis’ Malloy Named NEC Women’s Volleyball Rookie-of-the-Week
LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2007) – Saint Francis University freshman Lindsay Malloy, a nearby Penn Cambria High School graduate, was named the Northeast Conference Women’s Volleyball Rookie-of-the-Week on Monday after leading the Red Flash to a pair of wins this past weekend.
Malloy earns her first NEC Rookie-of-the-Week honor after leading Saint Francis to victories on the road at St. Francis-NY and NJIT. The Gallitzin, Pa. native hit .450 with 11 kills in the Red Flash’s 3-0 win over the Terriers, before recording a career-high 14 kills on .417 hitting in the team’s 3-1 win over NJIT. The freshman outside hitter tallied 33 kills, 12 blocks and 13 digs on the week.
Saint Francis is 7-16 on the season, and 1-0 in the NEC. The Red Flash will play host to conference champion Long Island at 5 p.m. on Saturday, before Wagner visits for a 2 p.m. match on Sunday.
